SuccessFactors Partners With People Sciences to Offer Content and Services for Talent Skill Growth and Management…from SuccessFactors

SuccessFactors Goes Above and Beyond Traditional Talent Management Software Capabilities

HRchitect featured SuccessFactors in our May 2008 release of The Suite Life of Integrated Talent Management.

SuccessFactors, Inc., the global leader in on-demand performance and talent management solutions, last week announced at the HR Technology Conference and Expo, a partnership with People Sciences, Inc. that allows SuccessFactors to add valuable skill growth and management content to its Performance and Talent Management Suite. The partnership enables SuccessFactors to integrate People Sciences’ Skill Libraries into its software so that customers can employ skills-based, performance and talent management. With skills data inside SuccessFactors, customers will have a richer picture of each employee and their overall talent pool. Skills data will add a significant dimension to customers’ key performance and talent management activities, giving them a competitive edge and broadening their use of SuccessFactors beyond the traditional confines of performance and talent management suites.

Through the People Sciences, Inc. partnership, SuccessFactors now offers the Skills Management Pack, one of four new content offerings also announced today. The Skills Management Pack helps users define, evaluate, develop, and manage the skills required to run their organization, so businesses can track the skills needed for key roles and specialized projects or jobs, and train or hire workers in areas that are lacking. It includes access to a library of over 10,000 skills and qualifications associated with a variety of functions and industries including information technology, energy and utilities, healthcare, finance, and many more. Each skill includes a detailed description of scaled proficiency levels from novice to industry expert.

Aging skill sets, retirement, new technologies, economic downturns, mergers, culture changes, budget constraints, and other factors put numerous companies at risk of talent loss. Yet, many ignore the most fundamental solution to address the threat of under-qualified staff — establishing a skills-based organization as a component of talent management. An agile, appropriately skilled workforce will not only provide a significant return on investment, but also stimulate people to be more motivated, productive and fulfilled. And, most importantly, talent will be available to capitalize on growth opportunities.
