CHELMSFORD, Mass., Sept. 9, 2013 – The City of Tuscaloosa in Alabama has selected workforce management solutions from Kronos Incorporated to standardize critical business processes across all departments. The city expects to achieve annual savings of more than $225,000 with Kronos through overtime control, reduction in payroll and leave inflation, and increased operational efficiencies.
- The City of Tuscaloosa selected Kronos time and attendance, absence management, and mobile applications to more effectively manage its entire workforce including hourly, non-exempt, exempt and temporary employees across all departments including Central Administration, Police, Fire, Environmental Services, Transportation, and Water and Sewer.
- Replacing a manual process, Kronos will help reduce supervisor time dedicated to workforce management tasks by more than 50 percent, significantly increasing city-wide productivity. Also, payroll costs are one of the city’s largest discretionary expenses and Kronos will help the city minimize payroll inaccuracies and inflation through standardization of pay rules and policies.
- Through consistent application of attendance policies across all departments, the Kronos absence management solution will not only help enforce policies and reduce unscheduled absenteeism; it will also improve compliance with federal, state, and other leave laws.
- For added innovation in how the City of Tuscaloosa will manage its workforce, it has implemented mobile applications from Kronos, which will enable “on-the-go” employees to track time, request time off, and punch in and out anytime, from anywhere. Supervisors will be able to easily view and respond to requests in real time from their mobile devices. Kronos® InTouch® time clocks will provide employees more control over their time, enabling them to easily check accrual balances, request time off, and view schedules.
