CNN’s Senior Political Analyst to Moderate Session on

Impact of Data and Analytics on the Workforce

HORSHAM, Pa. (July 24, 2014) – Human Resource Executive® magazine, the premier publication focused on strategic issues in HR, today announced that David Gergen, senior political analyst for CNN, will have a prominent role in the upcoming 17th Annual HR Technology® Conference & Exposition, taking place October 7-10, 2014 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

For more than 30 years, Gergen has been an active participant in American political life, serving as a trusted advisor to four presidents of both political parties. In his current role with CNN, he offers his bipartisan analysis on the issues of the day and explains what current headlines mean for the future of the country. A former editor-at-large of U.S. News & World Report, Gergen currently serves as professor of public service and director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and is the author of the bestselling book, Eyewitness to Power: The Essence of Leadership, Nixon to Clinton.

Drawing on this extensive experience and unrivaled insight, Gergen will moderate the session, “Workforce 2020: How Data and Analytics Will Shape the Workplace,” which will be held at 8:30 a.m. PDT on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the HR Technology® Conference. During this discussion, Gergen will be joined by a panel of leading experts on work, workplaces and technology to discuss how data has emerged as the defining topic for the future of HR, and how HR leaders must leverage this data in order to impact the organization. Additionally, using the latest data on workforce trends, this session will also address some of the broader workforce management issues and the power of analytics in designing effective strategies that will enable organizations to thrive in the future.

HR Technology® Conference Co-Chair Steve Boese commented, “Through his coverage on CNN, David Gergen is welcomed into millions of homes each week, and we are excited to welcome him onto the stage at HR Tech to share his unique insights with our audience. We look forward to a lively and engaging discussion, led by one of today’s most insightful commentators, on how the growing use of data will change the future of HR and what today’s leaders can do to prepare for this transformation.”

Gergen commented, “The topic of workforce management, and particularly how it is impacted by data, is top of mind for most employers and leaders, and those that understand how to leverage this information effectively will be best positioned to address the challenges of the future. I am excited to moderate this discussion, which will present key strategies for facing the future with confidence as we reveal fresh data on the latest workforce trends – and their impact on the HR function.”
