Micro Focus, a FTSE 250 company with international operations, recently reviewed its recruitment practices. Prior to its relationship with SilkRoad, a global provider of social talent management solutions, Micro Focus relied mainly on recruitment consultants to source potential employees. However, the company was keen to streamline its hiring process and bring it under the management of its in-house human resources department for most new hires across the organization.

OpenHire is an easy-to-use, enterprise class content management software that accepts and organizes applications from multiple sources, including emails and social networks. The solution’s highly advanced, knowledge based search options streamline the retrieval process, making every step in recruiting (from screening to evaluating) more efficient.

“It quickly became clear that OpenHire was developed with the end user in mind.  We needed a product that was flexible and could be tailored to our unique requirements. A key reason for our decision to invest in SilkRoad technology was the speed of OpenHire implementation,” said Paul Milnes, head of compensation & benefits, Micro Focus. “At only four weeks this has helped us to recruit 15 new staff in our Belfast office very effectively and in a shorter period of time than would have happened under our previous practices.”

In addition to the operational benefits achieved by bringing this function in-house, Micro Focus expects to make financial savings thanks to its use of OpenHire software, reducing the cost per hire. The company also intends to implement SilkRoad’s leading onboarding solution, RedCarpet, to help new employees integrate seamlessly into the company’s systems and culture.

“OpenHire helps organizations reduce advertising and agency costs, while improving the candidate experience throughout the recruiting process and decreasing time per hire,” said Giles Hodson, Managing Director for Northern Europe at SilkRoad. “We are delighted to be able to support Micro Focus to grow its talented team.”

SilkRoad technology, inc., a leading provider of talent management solutions, announced today the company was named the winner of the June 2010 HRtechnology Ironman. SilkRoad’s market leading Life Suite product OpenHire competed in the Mid-Market Talent Acquisition Systems Ironman competition on June 18th.

The competition is the latest in HRchitect’s educational webinar series and has software vendors compete against one another to prove who can “swim better,” “bike stronger” and “run faster.” HRchitect recently developed the series of webinars as a way to educate consumers on the human resource technology choices available.

In these fast-paced web events, vendors compete head-to-head in each category. Spectators then vote after each portion and the vendor with the most total votes receives the medal and is named HRtechnology Ironman. In the competition vendors must prove their advantages over the competition in each category including:

Swimming – In this category vendors discuss company history, overview, specific identity, financial viability, marquee clients and leadership team.

Biking – During the biking portion the vendors showcase their product’s functionality, technology/integration, usability and configurability.

Running – In this segment of the competition the vendors discuss the key differentiators of their solution and their company.

Media Interviews – Finally, the vendor is judged based on answers to questions from the audience.

In Q4, SilkRoad technology announced its partnership with Indeed.com, the leading search engine for jobs.  SilkRoad’s integration with Indeed allows SilkRoad customers to expand their reach to potential candidates. The company continued to receive industry recognition for its products and was honored by both the CODiE Awards and Network Product Guide’s Hot Companies.  SilkRoad is a finalist in the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) for a CODiE Award in the “Best Human Capital Solution” category.  The program honors the software and information industry’s finest products and services and excellence in corporate achievement.

SilkRoad technology was also named a 2010 Hot Companies finalist by Network Products Guide.  SilkRoad was selected from a global industry analysis of information technology vendors.  Finalists were selected based on the “4Ps” criteria—namely Products, People, Performance, and Potential.   SilkRoad has been honored with the Hot Companies recognition multiple times and consistently excels in meeting and exceeding the 4Ps criteria.

Integration with World’s Leading Search Engine for Jobs Expands SilkRoad Clients’ Reach

HRchitect featured SilkRoad in our May 2008 release of The Suite Life of Integrated Talent Management and also includes them in our list of top Talent Acquisition Systems vendors that businesses should consider. SilkRoad participated in the Onboarding Systems panel on June 10, 2009 as part of theHRshow. SilkRoad competed in the HRchitect Beauty Pageant on Onboarding Systems in January 2009 where they were crowned the winner. Brian Platz, EVP and COO of SilkRoad also appeared on the HRchitect WebMingle on March 20, 2009. If you are looking for a new Talent Management System, or any HR system, talk to HRchitect first. We have unparalleled knowledge of the HR and Talent Management vendor community and can save you time and money in selection and implementation.

SilkRoad technology, a leading provider of talent management solutions, announced today the integration of the OpenHire job delivery platform with Indeed.com.  With millions of job seekers and more job searches per month than any other job site, Indeed is the leading search engine for jobs.

SilkRoad’s integration with Indeed will allow SilkRoad customers to expand their reach to potential candidates. Jobs delivered directly to Indeed from OpenHire will be included in Indeed’s organic results and its network of more than 10,000 websites.

This integration will allow SilkRoad customers to reach the single largest audience of both active and passive job seekers on the Internet.  SilkRoad technology has existing agreements in place with Jobfox and Simply Hired.

Through this integration, OpenHire customers will benefit from implementing automated tracking for all jobs delivered to Indeed. By automatically populating the source when candidates apply to jobs from Indeed, more accurate ROI measurements can be made by recruiters wishing to track their online recruiting efforts. OpenHire customers can also take advantage of Indeed’s free Job Analytics reports, which contain information about how well a company’s jobs are performing on Indeed. OpenHire customers can use this report to gain insight into what keywords candidates are using to find their jobs, what job titles are being clicked on most often, and how their jobs are performing compared to other companies on Indeed.

“We are excited to introduce SilkRoad’s OpenHire customers to the benefits of having their jobs included on Indeed,” said Samuel Fitzroy, Director of Alliances at Indeed. “Having jobs included automatically from this integration will ensure that all OpenHire customers are taking advantage of Indeed’s massive audience of active and passive job seekers.”

Companies have been using OpenHire to find and track top talent since 1998. Their patented job board integration, career site portals, intelligent searching, screening tools, and candidate communication tools make it easy to streamline workflow and lower recruiting costs, all while improving efficiency. These features, combined with Indeed’s reach, will allow SilkRoad customers to maximize the exposure of their jobs to candidates in the most efficient way possible.

Having jobs automatically included on Indeed also makes it even easier to sponsor positions and get additional targeted job seeker traffic.

“We are very excited to be working with Indeed,” said SilkRoad Director of Product Strategy, Thomas Boyle. “They have simplified the job search process for job seekers, while building an incredibly cost-effective tool for companies to attract the best talent possible.”

SilkRoad technology Announces Q3 Results for 2009…from SilkRoad

Success driven by new product and continued adoption of Life Suite

SilkRoad technology, inc., a leading provider of talent management solutions, announced today that the third quarter of 2009 marked the 25th consecutive period of sales growth for the company. Highlights from the quarter include SilkRoad’s new core HR system, HeartBeat; the industry’s first talent management assessment tool; an expanded alliance with top employment site Monster; and continued widespread adoption of the company’s Life Suite solutions.

SilkRoad had a record Q3 with its dominant recruitment management and retention strategy solutions, OpenHire and RedCarpet, driving more effective talent acquisition through the use of social networks and strategic talent brand management. Healthfirst, US Oncology, Inc., and Wake Forest University all purchased both OpenHire, for recruiting management and RedCarpet, for employee onboarding and life events. Other clients purchasing the Life Suite included: Life Style Family Fitness, Pratt Institute, USAble Life, CentralCare, Cook Children’s Health Care System, Renal Ventures Management, LLC, SIRVA, and Summa Health System.

“This has been another very exciting quarter for SilkRoad with a sizeable number of clients opting to purchase multiple Life Suite products,” said Andrew J. “Flip” Filipowski, Executive Chairman and CEO of SilkRoad technology.  “With the addition of our new product HeartBeat, we have been able to extend what was already an unparalleled package of talent management and HR solutions.”

“As always, we are very excited about our ongoing partnerships.  This quarter our work with Aberdeen Group generated a groundbreaking talent management assessment tool for the industry and our extended alliance with Monster helps clients get job postings out as quickly as possible.  Both of these initiatives further our perpetual goal: helping every company recruit and retain the best fit talent for their organizations,” continued Filipowski.

At the annual HR Technology Conference in September, SilkRoad announced a new proprietary Software as a Service Core HR solution that will join its award-winning Life Suite.  The new product, HeartBeat, allows secure and reliable access to key HR information for both employees and management by creating a “system of record” to store all employees’ core data.

With HeartBeat, both workers and managers have access to and can act on HR information relevant to them.  The core HR system also allows for easy creation of analytics and reporting, from complete organizational charts and headcount reports to specific business unit and work analytics, offering insight and strategic value in managing enterprise human capital.

This quarter SilkRoad also announced the availability of the first interactive talent management assessment tool designed specifically for the Human Resources industry. SilkRoad’s talent management benchmark tool, which is free to users, allows organizations to compare their performance against companies from around the world.  The benchmark tool was created in partnership with Aberdeen Group and will help companies identify areas for improvement across their talent management portfolios. In order to compile the data used in this tool, Aberdeen collected and analyzed data, including over 640,000 data points, from more than three thousand organizations around the world.

At the end of September, SilkRoad received a top ranking in the 2009 Aberdeen AXIS report for Talent Acquisition Systems. The AXIS report provides a Best-in-Class performance evaluation, and assessment of each vendor’s market readiness as determined by over 250 evaluation criteria. “We are extremely proud to not only be included in this report, but to be a clear market leader for Applicant Tracking and Talent Acquisitions,” said Brian Platz, SilkRoad COO.

SilkRoad also extended its alliance with Monster, the leading global online careers and recruitment resource, to provide real-time posting tools into the OpenHire recruiting management solution. These newly available tools will enable SilkRoad technology customers to seamlessly post their open positions and manage applicant data. With the real-time posting feature, customers can post jobs from OpenHire to Monster in real-time, making job postings available to jobseekers sooner than ever before. Additionally, SilkRoad has been able to take advantage of some of Monster’s advanced integration components, allowing organizations to view available inventory in real-time without ever leaving OpenHire.

Last but certainly not least, SilkRoad was honored by The Business Journal in September as the number 12 fastest growing company in the Triad area.  The Business Journal counted down the region’s fastest growing privately held companies at an event that annually honors the successes of private businesses and their owners – as well as the growth and contribution of the 50 most dynamic companies that have strong impact on the Triad’s economic success.
